We know how important it is to be able to quickly update your farm records and to make sure that you have all the information you need for farm assurance and reporting stored accurately.
To make this easier we have built three new features:
- Pesticide list – instead of typing in the names of all the sprays you use you can select them from a database of pesticides.
- Reference numbers, active ingredients and pesticide types – pesticides from the database have this additional information stored for you, helping you make sure that your records meet assurance requirements.
- Standard crop types for field usages to make set-up faster.
Select spray inputs for Field Jobs from a list of the pesticides available in your farm’s country. You can still add your own inputs for fertiliser, seed, biologicals etc. This will make Field Job set up faster and lead to fewer typos! Pesticides you have used previously appear in your farm inputs so you can find them again quickly.
When you make a Field Job and tap ‘Add Input’ you will see a new section below the inputs you have set up for your farm called ‘Pesticide database’, this has a list of pesticides. Just type in the search bar at the top to filter. When you select one you will see the reference number, type and units and can set the application rate as usual. Read the full instructions here.
To help you meet farm record keeping requirements we store each pesticide’s reference number, type (fungicide, herbicide etc) and active ingredients so they will be on hand for inspections.
If you already have inputs set up on your farm – not to fear! We have built a tool so you can match them to pesticides in the database to store this extra information. Learn more.
We have added a list of standard crop types which you can use for your usages. This should make it quicker to set up and organise field usages.
You can add a ‘description’ to your usages as well as the crop for additional info such as variety, info (e.g. permanent pasture or 2 year ley) or rotation timing (e.g. 1st/2nd wheat).
As always flexibility is key so if you don’t see the crop you want you can still select ‘other’ and type your own name.
All your existing usages still work – if you want to add crop types to them you can do so by going to Usages in Farm Settings and editing them. Learn more here
Not only is this going to make organising your farm’s work and records easier than ever, we will also be building on it to enhance our analytics capabilities and integrations.
The first step will be to add checking capabilities for your spraying plans. This will use the label information for the pesticides on your planned jobs to let you know if you are in breach of any application restrictions, for example the maximum dose for a spray or if your crop is not permitted for its use.
